Massachusetts State House

193rd Congress Legislation

The deadline to file bills for the 193rd Congress was Friday, 1/20/2023. Bills are now under review for assignment to committees. While NAMI Mass is still sorting through legislation for our priorities, here are two early bills which may be included on that list.

  • MA H.D.2347/S.D.320: An Act Transferring Bridgewater State Hospital From The Department Of Corrections To The Department Of Mental Health

  • MA H.D.3255: An Act Relative To Ending Unnecessary Hospitalizations And Reducing Emergency Department Boarding

Keep an eye out for the full list of NAMI Mass Legislative Priorities, coming soon. This year, Advocacy Day is April 4 - 6, Tuesday -Thursday. It is online as it was in 2022. Included in the three days are opportunities to listen to motivational speakers, to learn from info sessions about the legislation, and to practice telling your story — with expert training. On the last day, Thursday, you’ll have time for two meetings with your State Representative and Senator.
