Share Your Story for the Community Resilience Project: Acton & Boxborough
Acton-Boxborough United Way is actively working to address the mental health needs of their community and has recently launched the Community Resilience Project. The purpose of this project is to assess and promote mental health resilience. As part of the commitment to improving mental health, they are collecting stories from residents who have faced mental health challenges.
This is an opportunity to educate people about mental health, address stigma (negative attitudes), and ultimately empower all people in the community with coping skills to build resilience. Participate in this unique opportunity to share your own experience, describe your journey, and teach others not only about the challenges you endured but also about the resources, support systems, and skills you found helpful along the way.

The Alternatives to Suicide approach was developed by the Wildflower Alliance in 2009 as one of the only peer-to-peer groups that truly focuses on the topic of suicide. Rather than assessment and risk, these groups are a non-judgemental space to discuss suicide. Go to: wildfloweralliance.org/?s=Alternatives+to+suicide

Psychosis Discussion with Grow a Strong Family
The purpose of the psychosis education event is to explain psychosis and answer questions about this surprisingly common condition. The event will take place from 3:30 to 5 pm via Zoom on Thursday, November 3rd. The format includes a 20-minute lecture describing what psychosis is and explaining some of the leading theories about how it happens. The rest of the time (approximately 70 minutes) will be for audience questions. Dr. Danelle Hupp will try to answer any psychosis-related questions that come up.
Although we will be happy to answer any question about psychosis, we won’t be able to offer any person-specific diagnostic opinions or treatment recommendations. This is a forum to discuss psychosis, provide general information, and answer general information questions. This is not a therapy or treatment group. More information and registration details are available here: growastrongfamily.dm.networkforgood.com/
