Panel Discussion & Roadmap from NAMI Metro West

An Invitation from the NAMI Metro West Affiliate:

Look, I know you are busy. But I also know you have had or will have a mental health crisis. Unfortunately, I also know that many families dealing with mental health issues are involved with the Massachusetts legal system. My family, like your family, is struggling to find resources in a complicated Massachusetts mental health system. We can help. We put together a panel of experts: John DeRonck, Vice President, Emergency Services, Advocates Inc; Attorney Gary Zalkin, Principal, Zalkin Law Associates; and Jill Gichui, NAMI Mass Compass Help Line Director for you to consult with. Join us from 6:30-8:30pm on November 14. 2023 at the NAMI MetroWest Annual Meeting. Actually, the formal meeting lasts only 15 minutes, and the event is a seminar entitled:

ROADMAP THROUGH THE MENTAL HEALTH SYSTEM IN MASSACHUSETTS

Discussion topics include:

  1. Mental Health Crisis Management: 988, Community Behavioral Health Centers, Calling The Police, ER Visits

2. Mental Illness and The Law: Section 12, Section 35, Rogers Orders, Guardianship

3. Peer Resources For People in Recovery: The Collaborative Clinician, Peer Managed Services, Taking Care Of Yourself

The agenda will include a short Affiliate business meeting followed by a presentation and panel discussion. The discussions are part of a seminar series presented by NAMI MetroWest that will follow the subject material in the NAMI MetroWest document “RoadMap through the Massachusetts Mental Health System.”
