NAMI TraumaInSight Supports Youth

NAMI National announces a new online training created with youth-serving professionals in mind that covers the principles of trauma awareness. TraumaInSight helps participants learn how to identify youth dealing with trauma and take supportive action to help. The course can be completed in three hours, and is offered free of charge.

NAMI TraumaInSight is designed to help youth-serving professionals, including teachers, classroom aides, juvenile justice workers, social workers, youth counselors, and more, in all communities better understand the effects trauma has on youth. In this training, learners can expect to receive lessons on:

  • How to identify youth who are experiencing trauma

  • What actions to take to support youth living with trauma

  • Language to use (and avoid) when talking with youth about trauma

  • How trauma impacts behavior

  • Resilience’s role in healing trauma

  • Exploration of individual, community, and institutional sources of trauma

  • And more!
