COVID-19 highlighted mental health issues in our society, bringing them front and center for our community. Publicity and public awareness concerning mental health difficulties are now more common. Despite the evolving changes in Massachusetts with the establishment of Community Behavioral Healthcare Centers, support is often not accessible. Good mental health care providers are scarce if not impossible to find and emergency room boarding is still happening especially for kids and young adults.

We need NAMI more than ever to advocate for improved mental health services for all, both nationally and in Massachusetts.  This takes energy, effort, financial support, and your help. See how you will be part of a movement all over our country!

What can “WE” do? WE can and must join a team. WE can ask our family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers to join us in this quest—support and donate to NAMIWalks. WE can “talk the NAMI Walk” at every opportunity. Together WE can make a difference. (Even if you cannot be there for the event, please sign on as a virtual walker and collect donations for NAMI.)

Donations using a credit card on-line are preferred but checks made out to “NAMI Massachusetts” (with Central Middlesex on the memo line) are also accepted. These can be mailed to Tom Scurfield, 22 Fort Pond Road, Acton MA 01720.

I’ll see you there! Thank you for your dedication. NAMI Central Middlesex will lead the way as you can see below from a recent year. Please join us!
