Winchester Church Welcomes NAMI
Good News and Many Thanks:
Longtime NAMI Central Middlesex member Maureen Donovan sent in a wonderful photo from the First Congregational Church in Winchester. They put up a sign to honor NAMI volunteers! Maureen and Linda Brown from NAMI Cambridge recently taught an in-person Family-to-Family course at the church. Check out the lovely sign in the photo. “We honor NAMI VOLUNTEERS who tirelessly work to advocate, educate, and provide peer support equipping families to master the challenges of mental illness.”
Kathleen Zagata, a long-time NAMI supporter, has been the Health Minister of the First Congregational Church of Winchester. She helped organize the display. Can you see the scarecrow-like sculpture? It was created by the same artist who has offered amazing entries in our Cucurbit Farm Scarecrow Contest in Acton. This church has hosted many in-person Family-to-Family classes and even our annual meeting a few years ago. They are a true partner!
We have just learned that Kathleen is retiring from her role at the Winchester church and is moving to another position in the wider church. We, here at NAMI Central Middlesex, send her our very best wishes and many thanks. We hope our supportive relationship remains active. All the best to you, Kathleen!
