Join us by the Lake for Tan & Plan

a social event for NAMI Massachusetts family program leaders & candidates

Our annual Tan & Plan is traditionally an opportunity for our affiliate’s Family to Family and Basics course leaders to gather for supper and conversation at the lake front home of one of our member families. We share our ideas and experiences leading NAMI courses, teacher pairings for the upcoming fall sessions, and current events in the Massachusetts behavioral healthcare system.

As we moved to virtual offerings and increased collaboration between affiliates, we invited NAMI teachers from across the state to join the fun. This summer we add to the invitation list our Central Middlesex Family Support Group Facilitators and new candidates who may volunteer to lead NAMI programs in the future. We’ll open the discussion of how best to serve family members who love someone living with a mental health condition through our NAMI programs and outreach efforts.

If you are considering becoming trained to lead our family courses or serve as a family support group facilitator, feel free to join us for this annual gathering. Training sessions for those positions are likely to be set for some time this fall. Take advantage of this opportunity to speak with current volunteers about their roles in NAMI’s mission. You’ll find deep commitment, meaningful connection, and strong satisfaction in giving back and helping others.

The lake and our gracious hosts are in Littleton MA, and we will get together on Saturday, July 13th from 4:00-7:00 PM, rain or shine. We’ll grill and pass pot luck dishes. Current volunteers will receive an email invitation. If you are wondering about the roles of our teachers and facilitators, please plan to stop by and chat, nosh, and learn how special it is to be part of the NAMI family of volunteers. Send us an email about your intention to attend and we’ll share the location details: nami.cmsx@gmail.com.

We hope to see you by the lake!
