Behavioral Health Resource Lists with Emerson Health, 2024 Update
When we joined the Mental Health Working Group at Emerson Health in Concord a few years back, we developed flyers featuring no-fee mental health support programs available in the community. These are shared by hospital staff, including those in the behavioral health inpatient unit and the home care service program, with those who might benefit. The Emerson Health Community Benefits department keeps community stakeholders apprised of the availability of Behavioral Health Resource lists.
The lists include NAMI programs and options offered by other mental health support organizations. The flyers have these themes: Crisis Help & Information, Adult Peer Supports, Teen & Young Adult Supports, Locating Mental Health Care Providers, Family Supports, Criminal Justice Involved, Substance Use Supports, Veterans’ Supports, and New Parents’ Supports. Though a few of the providers listed primarily serve the western end of our affiliate, the vast majority of the resources are open to all.
Recent updates include information about Mental Health Court Sessions, a new list for teens & young adults, plus additional options for adults and peer crisis support. They are available to the public in the middle of the Outreach page on our affiliate website, namicentralmiddlesex.org/outreach and the behavioral health section of the Emerson Health website: Emerson Behavioral Health. The Adult Peer Support list is copied below.
Our relationship with Emerson Health grows this year with Central Middlesex board members serving on the Community Needs Assessment committee. Every three years the state requires hospital organizations to survey their service area to determine pressing health needs. Not surprisingly, mental health was of primary concern in recent surveys.
