DMH Wants to Hear from You on New Crisis Response

We invite our readers to briefly share your stories, good or bad, about touch points with 988, the Behavioral Health Help Line (BHHL), and the Community Behavioral Healthcare Centers(CBHCs). Please send your stories/experiences to our email address: nami.cmsx@gmail.com. NAMI Central Middlesex board member Ivy Pompeii will share them with the Massachusetts DMH committee on the new crisis response programs.

Northeast Recovery Learning Community Groups

Our team has expanded our groups to bring variety to our peers. The “Weekly NERLC Groups” can be used to log in directly to our virtual groups with just a click on the link. For our live groups, the addresses are on the links. We hope you enjoy the new way of accessing our groups. All Northeast Recovery Learning Community (NERLC) activities are conducted with support from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Department of Mental Health-Recovery Learning Community.

Family Support Group Facilitator Training

When: Saturday, June 10 - Sunday, June 11
Time: 8:45 am - 6 pm
We are looking for individuals who are interested in being trained to be Family Support Group Facilitators. NAMI Family Support Group is a free, peer-led, confidential support group for family members, caregivers, and loved ones of individuals living with mental illness. Parent/Professional Advocacy League: 12th Annual Virtual Conference

When: Friday, May 19, 9 am - 3 pm

The Keynote Speaker will be Elizabeth Sweet, Public Health Advisor from SAMHSA's Office of Recovery and a mom with lived experience! After the keynote, the conference will continue with morning and afternoon workshops on a wide variety of topics within Children's Mental Health. Healthy Minds With Dr. Jeffrey Borenstein on PBS

“Healthy Minds” with Dr. Jeffrey Borenstein of Brain & Behavior Research Foundation aims to remove the stigma of mental illness. The goal of Healthy Minds is to inspire conversations about mental illness, provide understandable information and resources for viewers, and demonstrate that, with help, there is hope.
