DEAFinitely & This is My Brave: Heart Truth- Mental Health Stories from the Deaf Community
When: Saturday, March 4 @ 7 pm

This is the first ever live show featuring twelve Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing storytellers who will share personal stories of mental illness and recovery to break down stigma, uncover access barriers in the mental health system, and celebrate the resilience of the Deaf community. Veterans’ Crisis Line
The Veterans’ Crisis Line website, veteranscrisisline, no longer lists the previous 1-800 number and now encourages veterans seeking support to dial 988 and then press 1. The texting number remains the same, 838255. Both services are available 24/7.
Kiva Centers: MA-Certified Peer Specialist Training
When: April 25, 27 & May 2, 4, 9, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25, 30 (Zoom)
Time: 9 am - 4 pm, attendance is required
Become a Massachusetts Certified Peer Specialist with this training from Kiva Centers. This is a rigorous training for people preparing for a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) role in the community or service system. CPS is not an entry-level position and the training is designed for people who have some knowledge and experience with peer support. Phone interview required! The deadline to schedule a phone interview is March 7th, 2023 @ 5:00 pm. There are no costs for classes, exams, or materials. Learn more about CPS Training & apply
NAMIWalks Mass: 19th Annual Walk

Bake it Till You Make it

Location: In-person at the Sergeant Memorial Library, 427 Mass Ave., Boxborough, MA
Age range: Adults and teens 14+

This is a mental health presentation in which author and baker, Dayna Altman, shares her mental health story while simultaneously conducting a cooking demonstration. Using ingredients as metaphors, Dayna discusses her trials and triumphs living with depression, OCD, and an eating disorder, as well as becoming an advocate in the mental health community. Participants will bake along with Dayna, in hopes of creating a fun, non-threatening environment, for all to learn, share, and grow.
Melrose CBHC Presentation with Eliot

Mental Health First Aid is a nationally recognized two day training program that teaches participants about mental health and substance use challenges. The town of Melrose is hosting Youth and Adult options with multiple dates in March. See the flyer below for details.

Dr. Christine Crawford, NAMI National's Associate Medical Director, is writing the second NAMI book focused on youth mental health — and she's hoping to speak to individuals and families with lived experience.
