The Community Resilience Project: Acton & Boxborough

Acton-Boxborough United Way is actively working to address the mental health needs of their community and has recently launched the Community Resilience Project. The purpose of this project is to assess and promote mental health resilience. As part of the commitment to improving mental health, they are collecting stories from residents who have faced mental health challenges.

This is an opportunity to educate people about mental health, address stigma (negative attitudes), and ultimately empower all people in the community with coping skills to build resilience.  Participate in this unique opportunity to share your own experience, describe your journey, and teach others not only about the challenges you endured but also about the resources, support systems, and skills you found helpful along the way.

Virtual “Sharing Our Stories” Presentation

NAMI Mass is excited to offer monthly virtual Sharing Our Stories (SOS) presentations that are open to the general public.

Sharing Our Stories (SOS) is a presentation that aims to provide hope, guidance, and connection to individuals who are caring for a loved one living with a mental health condition. Two trained presenters with lived experience of caregiving talk openly about their experiences and how they have found hope, support, and comfort. Audience members have the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about available resources.

New Treatment for Borderline Personality Disorder

Meet the Scientist Webinar by Brain & Behavior Research Foundation
Tuesday, December 13, 2:00 - 3:00 PM.
Online Video Education and Assessment to Empower Individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder

Existing treatments for borderline personality disorder (BPD) require extensive clinician training and face-to-face intervention. To expand treatment opportunities, psychoeducational videos about BPD might be made available online. We seek to test a suite of online videos for this purpose that will include tools for assessment of symptoms and cognition. Our aim is to make available for wider dissemination a clinical prescription that requires minimal effort and little additional training for treating clinicians.
