A Resource for those with Dual Diagnosis

The term “Dual Diagnosis” refers to individuals who live with a mental health condition and also have substance use concerns. Dual Recovery Anonymous is an organization that sponsors support groups specifically for those with a dual diagnosis. Their website, draonline.org, has an outline of their efforts along with more details about the program.

“Dual Recovery Anonymous™ is an independent, nonprofessional, Twelve Step, self-help membership organization for people with a dual diagnosis. Our goal is to help men and women who experience a dual illness.

We are chemically dependent and we are also affected by an emotional or psychiatric illness. Both illnesses affect us in all areas of our lives; physically, psychologically, socially, and spiritually.

Dual Recovery Anonymous™ is a Fellowship of men & women who meet to support each other in our common recovery from two No-Fault illnesses: an emotional or psychiatric illness and chemical dependency.”

The Massachusetts Clubhouse Coalition offers a list of over twenty virtual time slots each week for Dual Recovery Anonymous support groups. They are open to all at no fee and have call in access. View the options here: massclubs.org/dra-virtual-meetings.
