President’s Message for November 2023

We are taking a big-picture look at our affiliate’s public communication efforts. We plan to pivot to pushing content out through one platform to all three of our communication avenues: website, newsletter, and social media. We aim to rebalance our time and energy across all three channels by focusing on shorter messaging delivered over a wider time frame. That should ease commitment time levels for volunteers.

We have plenty of content to filter through including information about our CMSX groups, classes, and programs, NAMI annual events and initiatives, news from area mental health support organizations, and other related resources. Social media graphics are often provided by NAMI national.

We hope to expand our communication team and seek volunteers who might enjoy writing, or building up a library of photos and graphics, or sharing regional mental health news, or growing connections on Facebook and Instagram. Social media mavens are welcome. Let’s chat about communication! Contact us at nami.cmsx@gmail.com to discuss the opportunities.

Drum roll please. . . The winners of the 2023 “Stand Up to Stigma” Scarecrow Contest are pictured below. The button has a link to a video of the Jack ‘O Lantern Glow By event. Thanks to the staff at Cucurbit Farm and all the friends and families who crafted a scarecrow or stopped by the farmstand to share the energy of the event and support local mental health!
