As a NAMI affiliate, one of our missions is to advocate for those affected by mental illnesses and brain disorders. Our members advocate in the municipalities that we serve, at the state level with NAMI Massachusetts, and with the NAMI national organization.
NAMI of Central Middlesex uses social media, Facebook and Twitter, for advocacy communication in addition to our web site. Both NAMI Massachusetts and NAMI national have active social media advocacy outreach for you to follow. We occasionally send email alerts regarding time-critical advocacy opportunities. We also post advocacy related articles on our blog.
Our major state-level advocacy event is NAMI Massachusetts Advocacy Day at the State House. We invite as many of our members as possible to join us on this day. It’s an opportunity to meet your legislators and stress to them the importance of our issues that are pending in the legislature.
